With over 12 years of extensive research and development conducted at IFPEN, we possess deep expertise in fixed and floating wind technologies. Moreover, we actively participate in new technology development through R&D partnerships with IFPEN and other industry collaborators.

HISTORY

GreenWITS was founded by IFP Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN) and a team of experienced IFPEN engineers as a spin off company. With deep expertise in the wind industry, these engineers have contributed to the development of new technologies and now want to disseminate them for wider use in the wind energy sector. Backed by IFPEN's extensive research and innovation efforts, GreenWITS is positioned to provide innovative digital services that drive efficiency and optimization to meet the specific needs of our clients.

Daniel is a graduated engineer from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris, France) and from Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos (Madrid, Spain) and holds a PhD in structural mechanics from ENPC. He started his career by joining IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) in 1997 where he occupied several positions as research engineer, Project manager and head of Department. He launched the R&D activity in 2011 on offshore wind at IFPEN and led the corresponding R&I program up to the end of 2022, along with the programs on offshore O&G production and energy management and storage. Daniel was also the member for France during 8 years at the IEA-Wind TCP executive committee.

Pauline is a graduate engineer from ENSTA Paris (Paris, France). She started her career by joining IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) in 2012 in the Fluid Mechanics department. She has worked as a research engineer on floating wind, offshore wind, and wave energy systems. Her main background is in Hydrodynamics, Aerodynamics, and numerical simulation of wind energy systems (CFD and coupled simulations). She was project manager for the DeepLinesWind software development and for research activities related to both floating wind turbines and wake effects.

Ambroise is an engineer specialized in structural health monitoring. He holds a Master's degree with a specialization in Mechanical Modelling from the University of Nantes and a PhD in applied mathematics through his research conducted with IFP Energies Nouvelles and Inria (Rennes, France). He has worked on improving the application of operational modal analysis methods for wind turbine monitoring.

Fabien, who graduated from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (Lyon, France), obtained a PhD in computational structural mechanics through his research conducted with Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (Saclay, France). Initially, he began his professional journey as a developer at a leading simulation software company. Later on, in 2012, he joined IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN), where he assumed the responsibility of developing advanced simulation and design methodologies in the field of mechanics. Subsequently, Fabien took on the role of a lead engineer for floating wind technology and actively contributed to projects such as Provence Grand Large in France. Additionally, he held the position of R&I project manager, leading the development of Digital Twin technology and innovative monitoring solutions specifically tailored for the wind industry.

Marine Dupoiron is a research engineer specialized in fluid mechanics. She graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 2010 and holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge University. Her career began at Schlumberger, where she worked for seven years in several countries. In that time, she built an expertise in physical modeling and advanced instrumentation techniques for multiphase flow and turbomachinery. She joined IFPEN in 2018 where she explored diverse topics such as wake impact in wind farms, coupled simulations, and machine learning. She thrives in a technical environment at the intersection of research and industry.

Vincent is a graduated engineer from Ecole Centrale de Lille (France) and holds a PhD in mechanics from Ecole Centrale realized at Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (Saclay, France). He started his career at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) in 2007 as research engineer, where he was in charge of the development of advanced simulation methodologies in mechanics. Between 2019 and 2023, he occupied the position of R&I project manager for floating wind technology. He was in particular the coordinator of SBM/IFPEN partnership and was in charge of services related to coupled simulations.

Yann brings more than 35 years of experience in Global Management, Business and Operations within the Upstream O&G and Renewable Energy industries. From an engineering background, he has held various executive positions including Project Manager, Business Development, Sales and Marketing in Subsea 7 and the drilling industry worldwide. More recently, Yann has developed his strategic advisory company targeting SMEs and Start-Ups and creating value through various investments, partnerships, and alliances. Yann is a French citizen although having been resident on most continents, is particularly multiculturally-minded. He is also member of EVOLEN, the French Association of companies and professionals servicing the Energy.

Timothée is a graduated engineer from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne (2000, France) and from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Pétroles et des Moteurs, IFP School, (2001, France). He joined IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) in 2001 as a research engineer (inverse problem for seismic imaging, structural mechanics). Since 2011, he has been involved in offshore wind R&D and occupied several project manager positions: Deeplines Wind software development project, floating wind technology project. He contributed to initiate and develop a novel TLP floater technology with SBM Offshore since 2015, and supervised the integrated load analysis performed at IFPEN of the first precommercial project Provence Grand Large. Between 2018 and 2023, he was the head of IFPEN solid mechanics department (35 FTE research engineers and technicians).

Emilie Quenedey graduated from ENSTA Paris (France) in 2023, and holds a dual degree from Polytechnique Montréal (QC, Canada), where she pursued a research master's program in mechanical engineering, conducted in collaboration with Polytechnique's LM2 laboratory and ANDRITZ (Pointe-Claire, QC, Canada). Her research on the whirling vibrations of hydraulic turbines solidified her expertise in fluid-structure interactions and numerical modeling. Emilie joined GreenWITS in 2024 as a junior engineer, to contribute to the development and optimization of wind farm control systems.

Senior Software Architect & Data Engineer
Daniel is a senior software architect who has helped develop and bring to market industrial scientific solutions in the energy field for almost 20 years. He holds a master's degree in computer science and applied mathematics from ISIAL (Institut Supérieur d'Informatique et d'Automatique de Lorraine). At IFPEN Daniel has managed various R&I projects, software projects for the OpenFlow suite, and is also an expert in the fields of modelling, collecting, and processing scientific data.
